Does anyone have any sample zoning by-laws that deal with bed and breakfast operations ? Darka - there are provisions specifically for B and B's in Chapter 21 of the Provisions. Also I think Kingston and also try some of the regions or counties in the Maritimes - Nova Scotia. Bob

I am currently reviewing storage containers as accessory uses. Our approach will be to define it and only permit it within industrial zones or commercial zones (if not visible from the street). Another thought is to include such uses within the definition of 'open space', that way we can use the lot coverage requirements to limit these uses. --- Any thoughts ?

I apologize, but it appears that the 2nd half of my question never made it on to the board. In regards to "Floor Space Index" if it is something that you do use in your Zoning By-law, what do you intend on accomplishing by using an "FSI" ?

Our Zoning Ordinance does not allow plastic fences. However, since the quality of plastic/PVC/vinyl fencing has improved in recent years we are considering allowing them. Does anyone have a good idea of how to write the ordinance so that we get good quality fences and not some thin plastic fencing ?

I am working on a new zoning by-law starting with the downtown core. I am wondering what peoples experiences are with amenity areas for buildings having 3 or more units in a downtown. Is it still something that is regulated and what would be an appropriate area ?

Where a pre-existing non-conforming greenhouse use business grew and sold flowers only and then started to sell vegetables which were not grown in the greenhouse, is this a permitted expansion of the greenhouse use ?

I have a fitness centre wanting to locate in an industrial building (many tennants) and the Official Plan supports accessory uses such as restaraunts and day cares, so I feel fitness centre could also fit (see lots of them in industrial areas). However, they would also like to run an indoor skate board park as part of the fitness centre. Any opinions on whether this is appropriate ?
